Dear UHCL Alumni,
Happy New Year! On behalf of the UHCL Alumni Association, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. The holiday season is always a magical time of year, coupled with kindred warmth, time-honored traditions, and opportunities to both reflect the past year and prepare for the future. As great as 2023 was, this year promises to be our most exciting year, as we have now entered UHCL’s 50th anniversary.
This year, the Alumni Association and its representative 78K+ alumni base will play a pivotal role in helping steward numerous events celebrating the entire year for our 50th anniversary. As referenced in our previous alumni article, the Alumni Association, comprised of alumni volunteers, will maintain focus on the Alumni Celebration, Alumni Engagement, Giving, and Student Success, as we continue partnering with various stakeholders in participating UHCL’s 50th plans.
Last year, we launched new, exciting opportunities to get involved with our association whilst maintaining our core areas of alumni involvement. Read more for a quick recap on some of those exciting 2023 accomplishments.

When Lori Klein Quinn transferred to UHCL, she wanted to create a new future for herself by enrolling in a newly-opened university that offered a degree plan that interested her. Now, as the mayor of Tomball, Texas, she said she believes much of her success and inspiration to be active in her community stems from the B.S. in Accounting she received in 1977. Read her story.
