Our doctoral program, which opened its doors in 2020, is going strong! It includes both domestic and international students of diverse racial/ethnic, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.

  • Doctoral candidate Michelle Hernandez was invited to the inaugural NIH/NIDCD Diversity Scholar Workshop
  • Brandi BeCoats’ ASHA convention 2024 poster has been designated a Meritorious Poster
  • Kathleen Bradbury & Brandi BeCoats received competitive NIDCD fellowships to present their research at the 2024 Clinical Aphasiology Conference.
  • Sofia Machado received First Place for her poster presentation at the American Cochlear Implant Alliance meeting.
  • Stephanie Fan was selected to attend the NIH Bridge2AI in voice. She was the only SLP selected in a cohort of 50.
 

Student Activities and Awards

  • MA students Alyssa Peralez and Maritza Yanez were awarded Lydia Mendoza fellowships through the Center for Mexican American and Latino/a Studies (CMALS).
  • Our NSSLHA chapter received Bronze chapter honors

  • Emory Twitty was awarded the National NSSLHA Rising Leader Award
